The Perfect Squat

Most people think that a bodyweight squat can only be used to train strength endurance utilizing high reps. What do you guys think, can it be applied to build maximal strength?

I have some techniques that I think can turn a simple bodyweight squat or indeed any bodyweight movement into a strength movement. I want to hear your thoughts though first in the comments because I don't want to prejudice you with my theories.

  1. I doubt I would be able to get anywhere near a 500lb squat just by squatting with my bodyweight :S

  2. Are you sure? Think of how much harder it is to lift that 500 if you don't optimize your form. In fact with certian modifications you might struggle with 225. Why is that, could you use that to your advantage to make a bodyweight squat extremely hard?

  5. If you could do it in some way that makes the leverage less advantageous, then yes, it could be used for building maximal strength. However, I can't imagine anyway that could be done, so I'll wait to see what you have in store!

  6. I think you cn build some strength but using other exercises would be more effective at building such as the Pistol and GHR. I know how to make many BWEs extremely hard but not squats, I would love to hear your theory
